STEAM - Engineering in a Box
In April, 5th class began the STEAM Engineering in a Box programme for the second year in a row.
Everyone was really looking forward to this programme, the children were able to remember lots from 4th class too!
We have completed 2 lessons out of 5 so far and have had loads of discussion and fun. So far, we have discussed what an engineer is and the different types of engineers, as well as the important work engineers do in the world today. We also looked at and discussed how important engineering has been for producing energy in different ways.
5th class have also planned, made and improved a number of designs and creations, such as paper bridges, birdhouses, pulleys and wind turbines.
See pictures below of some fantastic designs!
