From November 8th - 12th it was Science Week!
1st class were very excited to carry out lots of experiments to celebrate!
In our classroom we did two experiments. First we predicted what would happen and then we carried out our experiments to discover the results.
We watched colours in water move up tissue paper due to absorption. The colours met at the top!
We added some food colouring into a bowl of milk. When you add soap to the bowl, the colours spread out to the edge of the bowl! This is because the milk and soap combine together and they push the colours away.
For homework this week, everyone carried out their own science experiments at home!
On Friday we watched lots of videos and pictures of each other's experiments and creations. We had floating and sinking oranges, a raincloud in a glass, milk and pepper experiments, a poster gallery as well as some huge towers built from plastic cups!
We all learned a lot from our own experiments too, we even shared some positive things that we liked about each other's experiments.
Everyone even got a certificate at the end of the week for being a super scientist!
