When we returned to school in March, we began the Run Around Ireland Challenge. Everyday, 5th class were given 10 minutes to run laps around the yard. 1 lap = 1km. Our challenge was to run to a variety of different locations/landmarks in Ireland collectively as a class.
On Friday, April 30th we finished the challenge! 5th class worked really well together & everyone really tried their best each day. For the last 2 weeks we only had 1 destination to reach - Mizen Head, which is a HUGE 373km away from our school!
Everyone in the class really tried their best (even Miss Gleeson ran some days!) & on the last day 5th class ran a whopping 396km collectively as a class, smashing our goal!! Everyone was delighted with the result!
After finishing the challenge, we added up the total number of laps we ran collectively as a class - 4,979 laps in total!
Well done 5th class!
